The Monthly Ollie: Volume 10

***Friends and family who are wanting these Ollie updates can look over to the right of this post and find a way to input your email to receive blog updates through email instead of social media or just happening upon the blog.***

Ollie’s tenth month has been a month of fun.

This month was very busy, but oh so fun! Ollie is crawling everywhere. We have installed the baby gates and Ollie loves to independently explore the house. She is recognizing and responding to certain phrases, and carries on the silliest conversations with anyone who will listen and sometimes just with herself. This girl brings smiles and laughter to everyone around her and we are absolutely LOVING how her personality is growing and unfolding.

Ollie is an adventurous, smart, and very busy 10 month old. We are extremely blessed parents.

You can read about Ollie’s ninth month here.

Month 10 Ollie Facts

She LOVES looking at her board books!

She is still taking two, two hour naps a day, but can skip the afternoon one and not be a monster.

She is crawling everywhere!

She is pulling up on everything she can, and has attempted a few steps while holding on to something.

She enjoys going shopping with mom, but really enjoys trying to stand up in the front of the shopping cart…which terrifies mom.

She treasures her independence and time to herself.

She will carry on a conversation with anyone who will listen.

She is the queen of being hangry – terrifyingly angry, actually.

She goes to bed around 7 PM and has been waking up at 5 AM to eat and then sleeps until 7:30 or so.

She is getting over some of her separation anxiety.

She finally got to watch a show of her own on TV, and gets to watch half an episode of Sesame Street each day. Loves it!

She loves visiting the church nursery and Spontaneity to play with other babies.

She carries her Bullet blanket with her most places.

She also loves her “Max the Cat”, Cuddle and Kind doll.

She is happy to play with her kitchen things while mom is cooking.

She responds to phrases:  “come here”, “go get Max the Cat”, “where are you”, and “where is pup-pup”

She has become quite fond of “Pup Pup” (Espen, the shih tzu) over the last month.

She climbed up the entire staircase by herself with dad spotting her from behind.

She smiles instantly when she sees or hears mom or dad.

She loves people watching.

She had Chik Fil A for the first time (that’s a milestone, right?).

She is very ticklish, especially her toes.

She claps all the time, especially when she hears “yay!”.

She almost has the wave motion down.

She dressed up for Halloween as Amelia Earhart, complete with a stroller plane.

She enjoyed visiting the pumpkin patch.

She started drinking goat’s milk and loves it.

She loves bath time!

She is still wearing 9-12 month clothes.

Favorite Food:  Raspberry Vanilla Beet Muffins

Second favorite:  Grapes and Bananas

(she is pretty much eating everything excluding dairy, honey, and processed food at this point)

Month 10 Mom & Dad Stuff

We can’t believe we have a 10 month old baby!

We enjoy talking with her.

We love watching her play independently.

We are excited that she is so interested in her books.

We are happy that she is easy to feed now, with few diet restrictions.

We enjoy all of the silly sounds Ollie makes.

We will never get tired of seeing her smile.

We love chasing her around the house.

We are excited to go overboard with holidays, Halloween was fun!

We are still not sorry for becoming the parents who flood newsfeeds with pictures of their baby…

We love that we can take her pretty much anywhere and know she will behave.

We are always learning more about her personality.

We love time with just the three of us.

We are excited to watch our baby grow and develop into a more curious and intelligent little being.

We are THANKFUL for all of the encouragement, prayers, assistance, and visits from our wonderful friends and family over the last month.

It has been a great month for Ollie and a great month at the Cavin house. If you are on Facebook or Instagram you can follow our adventures regularly by looking for #olliejujubee.

Until next time,

Mrs. Cavin
